Paul Pogba arrives for Man Utd training in fitness boost ahead of derby

Paul Pogba has arrived for Manchester United training ahead of the derby with City.

The Frenchman is a doubt for the clash at the Etihad after missing training this week with a slight problem.

Pogba trained indoors on Friday away from the rest of the squad – although he was expected to be passed fit.

And he arrived at Carrington for Saturday’s session with United fans hoping he will be available for the clash with leaders City.

Pogba was seen holding a personalised phone case as he was driven into training, with an animation of him celebrating on the back.

Pogba played the full 90 minutes against former club Juventus in midweek as United fought back from a goal behind to emerge victorious.

The Frenchman was the catalyst for the turnaround in the Etihad derby last season as United stopped City from winning the title.

Romelu Lukaku is already a doubt for the derby, having missed the trips to Bournemouth and Juventus with a hamstring injury sustained last Friday.

The striker trained with the group this Friday, as did Alexis Sanchez, who took a blow in Turin.

Mourinho said ahead of the session: “Lukaku is training with the team this morning.

“We have of course one more session tomorrow, but if the answer is positive, he’s ready.

“But in this moment, I can only say he trains with the team. I don’t know his answer.”

It remains to be seen who starts if Lukaku is fit after the Belgian was dropped for the recent win at Chelsea.

Sanchez has started the last two games in a central position although Marcus Rashford has impressed from the bench.
