With the extra time between games, we thought we’d dig into the snap counts from last week’s game. The Pittsburgh Steelers routed the Carolina Panthers 52-21 and were on cruise control for most of the second half. What stood out in the snap counts? Here are four surprises for us.

Javon Hargrave dominated in limited reps

We still don’t understand why the Steelers coaches don’t play defensive lineman Javon Hargrave more. In only 37 snaps on Thursday, Hargrave was able to get six tackles to lead the team. He pops on film every time he’s on the field but Pittsburgh seems to be satisfied keeping him on a very tight count for reps.
