It’s been revealed there are more than 19,000 users accessing the free wifi around the country.
Walesi Director Robert Khan says they will continue to expand the digital platform to empower youths.
He adds they will include more areas in the initiative to provide opportunities for Fijians to enter the digital world.
Meanwhile, he says there are a lot of people who are taking advantage of the Walesi set up boxes as well.
“Walesi has 122,000 plus boxes across Fiji. We have got 19,500 plus apps downloaded and we have got 19000 users for public Wi-Fi users weekly.”
Meanwhile, the free Wi-Fi hotspot is an initiative which was announced in the 2018-2019 National Budget with an allocation of $40 million for increased speed in public Wi-Fi hotspots around Fiji.
