Chelsea have been linked with signing a new forward for several weeks with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud not fully convincing Maurizio Sarri.
Bournemouth star Callum Wilson has been on Sarri’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.
The England ace is currently the most likely forward to join the Blues at 5/2 with bookmakers Ladbrokes.
But they reckon that if a swoop for Wilson falls through, Leicester star Jamie Vardy could be set to head to west London instead with a deal priced at just 4/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told Starsport: “Vardy’s been in fine form for the Foxes this season and if a potential Wilson deal falls through, we’re not ruling out a sensational move to Stamford Bridge for the former England forward.”
Before Chelsea can get to grips with the January transfer window, they have a hectic December fixture list to contend with.
The Blues face Premier League champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge later today.
Ahead of the clash, Sarrihas said he’s confident he can make Chelsea one of the world’s best again if he’s given time.
The Italiansaid: “What happens if Pep Guardiola had no time in City? Maybe the best team in the world [would not have been] City in the last year.
“My problem is to improve my players, to solve the situation, to solve problems, to try to gain a lot of points.
“Then there is the club that will decide what is better for them.”

Jorginho and David Luiz are expected to return to Chelsea’s starting line-up for today’s Premier League clash.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has reported no serious injuries ahead of the match and is expected to restore his first-choice line-up after Wednesday’s loss at Wolves, a second defeat in three league games.
Mateo Kovacic could start in midfield and Olivier Giroud could come in up front.
