Manchester City will be without two of their key players for the Premier League fixture against Chelsea on Saturday evening.
The Blues head into the match ten points ahead of rivals Chelsea and currently possess a valuable two point advantage over Liverpool ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.
However, the Blues will go in search of victory at Stamford Bridge without
the club record scorer, who is not fit enough to return this weekend Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, who were both missing from the City side which travelled to London on Friday.
Pep Guardiola and his side made the journey to London on Friday afternoon as they stepped up preparations for the crunch match at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking at his press conference earlier on Friday, Guardiola confirmed the star duo would not be making the journey down to London.
“No, both cannot play tomorrow,” the manager said. “They will be back soon.”
However, Guardiola is spoilt for choice in the wide areas with Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane all fit an available for the match against Maurizo Sarri’s side.
Sane provided at least one goal or assist or all of his eight Premier League starts this season, with the German scoring six and assisting five, and he will be hopeful of improving the tally again this weekend.
MEN photographers did not spot Bernardo Silva, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Brahim Diaz arriving at the train station, however that does not mean any of them are expected to miss the match.
City have already secured victory over Chelsea once this season, in the Community Shield back in August, and speaking ahead of the match Guardiola did not want to get carried away with his side’s achievements so far.
He said: “Thank you but we are not the best. To be the best we have to win titles and we haven’t done that yet.
“The job he has done so far is excellent, people don’t know how difficult it is to play in a special way.
“During pre-season we played them in the Community Shield and he already his team.
“Maybe they are not playing 90 minutes but when they play good for the 50 to 70 minutes they are excellent.”
