Emergency warning issued as bushfire threatens lives, homes in Jurien Bay

An emergency warning has been issued for a blaze burning in and around Drovers Cave National Park, in the northern part of Jurien Bay in the WA Wheatbelt shire of Dandaragan.

The warning is for people in an area bounded by Coolimba-Eneabba Road, Indian Ocean Drive, Sandy Cape Road and the intersection of Cockleshell Gully Road and Gairdner Road in Jurien Bay.

Parks and Wildlife has urged people to act immediately to survive, saying there is a threat to lives and homes.

The bushfire is out of control and unpredictable and is moving fast at 2–3 kilometres per hour.

Cockleshell Gully Road has been closed, along with both the Drovers Cave and the Stockyard Gully national parks.

The fire started in Drovers Cave National Park.
