George Clooney is defending his friend Meghan Markle.
Speaking to Good Morning Britain, the 57-year-old Hollywood star opened up about why he believes the Duchess of Sussex is being unfairly treated.
Watch George defend Meghan:
“I think it’s a little unfair,” he said of the press’ treatment of the mother-to-be. “… I’ve seen it, when the press can turn on you for sort of ridiculous reasons and for almost nothing and it seemed… to be a little unjust since she hadn’t done anything except just happen to live her life.”
“She’s a really kind and smart and intelligent young woman and they’re a really wonderful, loving couple,” he said of Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry. “Most of it you can just shrug off and not pay attention to, but sometimes it’s unkind.”
The Duchess of Sussex has become Vice-President of The @Queens_Commonwealth_Trust, of which Her Majesty The Queen is Patron, and The Duke of Sussex is President. On International Women’s Day The Duchess joined a special panel discussion of female thought-leaders and activists to discuss a range of issues affecting women today, convened by The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2019 #QCT #QCTxIWD
George defended the former Suits actress last month when he compared her treatment to that of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
“I do want to say, I just saw this piece…They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere,” he told Who. “She’s been pursued and vilified. She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she is being pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that [Princess] Diana was, and it’s history repeating itself…and we’ve seen how that ends.”
